Automatic Sludge Hopper | Auto Storage Hopper for Filter Press
Working Principle
The hopper is installed directly under the filter press plates. After the filter press finishes pressing and dewatering, the filter plates separate, and solid filter cake falls by gravity into the sludge hopper for temporary storage. An electric or pneumatic slide gate is fitted at the bottom, and its opening and closing can be interlocked with the filter press discharge signal. When the cake level inside the hopper reaches the set point, the bottom gate opens automatically to drop filter cake onto transport trucks or conveying equipment. The gate closes automatically once discharge is complete, ready to receive the next batch of cake. This process eliminates manual shoveling, continuously buffers multiple batches of filter cake, prevents cake spillage and site contamination, and enables automated continuous discharge.
Application Fields
Wastewater Treatment: Installed in filter press sections of municipal and industrial wastewater plants. It collects dewatered sludge for temporary storage and truck haul-off.
Chemical Industry: Used in fine chemical and inorganic salt filtration processes. It captures chemical filter cake and solid residues, and handles mildly corrosive materials.
Pharmaceutical Industry: For solid-liquid separation of raw pharmaceutical materials and plant extracts. It collects solid filter cake and herb residues while meeting solid material collection requirements in clean production environments.
Light Industry: Receives organic filter cake from starch, food additive and sugar dewatering processes. It buffers and transfers solid waste from filter press operations for various light industry suspensions.
