GSL Series High-Speed Filter | Pressure Multimedia Filter

Product Information

  • Name : GSL Series High-Speed Filter | Pressure Multimedia Filter
  • SKU : BLT-312
  • Category : integrated-wastewater-treatment-equipment

The GSL Series High-Speed Filter is a pressure multimedia filtration unit designed for raw water with elevated suspended solids. It uses anthracite and natural sea sand as filter media, achieving filtration rates up to 40 m/h and a single-unit capacity of up to 785 m³/h. High flow rate, large capacity, small footprint. It handles turbid water from steel mill rolling and continuous casting operations — including iron oxide scale and oil — as well as side-stream filtration in circulating water systems to improve water quality and increase reuse rates.

GSL Series High-Speed Filter | Pressure Multimedia Filter

Working Principle During filtration, raw water is pumped into the vessel and distributed evenly across the media bed through a central header and distribution assembly. It flows downward through the anthracite and sea sand layers, where suspended solids and oil are trapped. Clean water exits through the bottom collection assembly. When the differential pressure rises or a set time interval is reached, the unit switches to backwash: inlet and outlet valves close, the drain valve opens to release pressure, then compressed air is introduced for air scouring to separate media from attached debris. Backwash water then flows upward through the bed, flushing trapped contaminants out of the vessel. Normal filtration resumes once backwash completes. Operation can be manual or fully automatic via program control. Application Fields 1.Steel & Metallurgy: Turbid water treatment from rolling and continuous casting, removing iron oxide scale and oil 2.Circulating Water Systems: Side-stream filtration to improve water quality and increase reuse rates 3.Industrial Water Treatment: Filtration for chemical, light industry, and other plant wastewater and circulating water systems FAQ Q1: What are the inlet and outlet water quality parameters for the GSL Series High-Speed Filter? A: Inlet suspended solids ≤ 80–100 mg/L, oil ≤ 10–30 mg/L. Outlet suspended solids ≤ 10 mg/L, oil ≤ 5–15 mg/L. Maximum inlet pressure is 0.4 MPa, with an average pressure loss of approximately 0.05 MPa across the filter. Q2: Why is it called a "high-speed" filter? A: Design filtration rate reaches up to 40 m/h, compared to 8–12 m/h for conventional sand filters. For the same outlet quality, the high-speed filter requires a smaller vessel and delivers more flow per unit of filtration area — less footprint, lower capital cost. Q3: What are the main components of the GSL Series High-Speed Filter? A: The main body is a carbon steel or stainless steel cylindrical vessel (top head + straight section + bottom head). Internals include: distribution header (perforated pipe or wedge wire), for even inlet distribution; water cap collection assembly (perforated plate + filter caps), for collection and backwash distribution; anthracite and sea sand media bed; manholes at the top and bottom for media loading and replacement. External connections include central inlet, outlet, backwash water, and backwash air piping with valves. Compressed air is introduced during backwash for combined air-water scouring
