Life jacket

Product Information

  • Name : Life jacket
  • SKU : BLT-32
  • Category : life-jackets

A life jacket, also known as a buoyancy vest, is an essential personal flotation protection device for water rescue and water operations. Its main body is made of nylon waterproof fabric wrapping buoyant materials (such as polyethylene foam or inflatable air bladders). Common types include foam inherent buoyancy life jackets, automatic inflatable life jackets, and specialized life jackets for firefighting water rescue. They are equipped with buckle straps, rescue whistles, and reflective strips, with some models featuring additional towing straps and quick-release devices. When worn, they force the human body to float face-up after falling into water, preventing drowning. They are widely used in flood control and emergency rescue, ship navigation, water construction, seaside recreation, and inland water search and rescue scenarios.

Working Principle The fixed foam type relies on the inherent buoyancy of high-density closed-cell foam material inside. When worn, it displaces water to generate upward buoyancy, lifting the torso above the water surface and stabilizing the body to prevent the mouth and nose from submerging. The inflatable life jacket uses a water-soluble tablet that dissolves upon contact with water, triggering an automatic inflation of the gas cylinder. The airbag expands rapidly within a short time, providing significant buoyancy. It is lighter and more compact, and can be folded for storage when not in use. The rescue type is equipped with a tow and lift ring, making it easier for rescuers to directly pull the drowning person, and multiple straps secure it tightly to prevent the gear from slipping off. Application Fields 1. Flood Control and Disaster Relief: River patrols during flood seasons, embankment rescue operations, and personnel protection in waterlogged areas. 2. Maritime Shipping: Standard equipment for crew and passengers on fishing boats, ferries, and yachts, used for self-rescue in case of ship accidents or falls into water. 3. Firefighting and Water Rescue: Worn by firefighters during search and rescue operations in rivers, lakes, reservoirs, and drowning incidents. 4. Outdoor Water Activities: Rafting, sea recreation, fishing, and野外 water exploration to prevent drowning.
