Gas detection alarms are safety instruments used for real-time monitoring of toxic, harmful, flammable, and explosive gas concentrations in the environment. They are divided into two categories: portable handheld detectors and fixed wall-mounted detectors. These devices can detect various gases such as combustible gases, carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide, oxygen, ammonia, chlorine, and formaldehyde. When gas concentrations exceed the standard, they trigger audible and visual alarms and display numerical warnings on the screen. Some models support data upload, linkage with exhaust fans, and solenoid valves to cut off the gas supply. They are widely used in chemical workshops, underground pipelines, fire rescue, gas stations, and confined space operations to prevent explosions, poisoning, and hypoxia-related asphyxiation accidents.
