An industrial camera, also known as an industrial video camera, is a professional imaging device distinct from civilian surveillance cameras, specifically designed for image acquisition in industrial settings. It is used in conjunction with lenses, light sources, image acquisition cards, and industrial control systems. Based on output interfaces, it can be categorized into types such as USB, GigE (Gigabit Ethernet), CameraLink, and CoaXPress. According to scanning methods, it is divided into area scan cameras and line scan cameras. These cameras support high frame rates, high pixel counts, resistance to strong light and interference, and continuous, uninterrupted operation over long periods. They are often equipped with explosion-proof housings and protective covers, enabling stable performance in harsh conditions involving dust, humidity, extreme temperatures, and strong electromagnetic interference. As such, they are core hardware for machine vision inspection, production line monitoring, security explosion-proof surveillance, and visual equipment operation and maintenance.
