Screw conveyor

Product Information

  • Name : Screw conveyor
  • SKU : BLT-76
  • Category : screw-conveyors

Screw conveyor, commonly known as auger, is a closed-type continuous conveying equipment for powder and granular materials. The complete machine consists of a drive reducer, a screw blade shaft, a U-shaped trough/round tube casing, a feed inlet, a discharge outlet, a hanging bearing, and a base support. It relies on the rotation of the spiral blades inside the casing to push the material forward.

Working Principle The motor, combined with a reducer, drives the central spiral shaft to rotate at a constant speed. The spiral blades fixed on the shaft perform a rotating motion. When the material enters the housing, it is smoothly pushed forward along the inner cavity of the housing under the axial thrust of the spiral blades. The barrel housing completely encloses the material, preventing spillage and dust during the conveying process. Material is continuously fed from the inlet end and, pushed by the blades, moves to the outlet end at the other side for discharge. The shaftless version eliminates the central drive shaft and relies on an integral ribbon spiral to push viscous and easily tangled materials, reducing the risk of entanglement and blockage. Application Fields 1. Building Materials and Cement Industry: Conveying and feeding cement powder, fly ash, lime powder, and sand and gravel powder materials; unloading and transferring from silo bottoms. 2. Grain and Oil Processing: Enclosed conveying of bulk grains such as wheat, corn, flour, and rice bran to prevent dust and spillage. 3. Chemical Powder Production: Conveying and feeding plastic pellets, chemical powders, pigments, fillers, and additive raw materials in production lines. 4. Environmental Protection and Sewage Treatment: Shaftless screw conveyors for transporting sludge, screenings, and viscous mud, which are less prone to tangling with fibrous impurities. 5. Mining and Metallurgy Industry: Fixed-point and quantitative feeding of mineral powder, coal powder, and sintered materials, used in conjunction with crushing and screening systems.
